DESCRIPTION & DETAILS Holton-Arms School invites applications for the position of Middle School History and Social Studies Teacher (grades 7-8). The position involves teaching World Studies (grade 7) and United States Political History (grade 8) as part of a grade-level history team. The middle school history curriculum at Holton-Arms is thematic and project-based, so candidates should be familiar and comfortable with those teaching techniques. Beyond the classroom, teachers serve as advisors, mentors, and role models responsible for preserving a positive learning environment and the well-being of all of our students; committing to academic excellence and fulfilling assigned duties as required; communicating effectively with students and parents; and working collaboratively with division colleagues and administrators as well as the members of the Department of History and Social Studies. Participation in the department’s curriculum redesign towards a more deliberate anti-racist curriculum is expected.
