Details Posted: January 26, 2021 Location: Chatham, Virginia Show Map Type: Full Time - Faculty Category: Other Preferred Education: 4 Year Degree Hargrave is now accepting applications for a Director of Leadership & Ethics / Leadership Instructor. ?The Director is responsible for the development of the Leadership and Character Development education for Cadets in grades seven through twelve and postgraduates. This is a full time staff position, reporting directly to the Commandant. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The successful candidate will also perform the following duties. Maintain a twelve-month work schedule to meet program and school needs. Serve as a member of the Character Across the Campus Leadership team. Administer an active Leadership Awards Program. Advise and assist in development and execution of Hargrave’s Officer Candidate School, Noncommissioned Officer Courses. Advise and assist senior members of Hargrave Staff in matters regarding the Leadership and Character Development of the Hargrave student body. Teach Leadership and Character Development during Summer School. Maintain timely communications with cadets’ parents regarding cadet progress. Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned by the Commandant and President. Hargrave Military Academy is a boarding/day school servicing boys in the grades 7 to 13 (middle to high school to post-grad). We strive to provide the finest academics in a boarding school utilizing a military structure. Providing an academically challenging and personalized instruction for every cadet is a Hargrave tradition stretching back to our founding in 1909. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree Classroom teaching/training experience. ?Ability to participate in military style physical fitness training with students ?DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior Service in the U.S. Armed Forces as a Senior Noncommissioned Officer (Master Sergeant, First Sergeant or Sergeant Major) or Company Grade Officer (Captain/Lieutenant) An extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of military leadership and military skills.
