Marburn Academy is seeking qualified candidates to join our summer school team in 2021. We are seeking candidates to teach language arts or mathematics to small groups of students in the elementary and middle school grades. We are also seeking a candidate to teach Computer Science to small groups of middle school grades. Candidates who are accepted to teach in the program will receive a competitive stipend, professional development in areas of language arts and mathematics provided by Marburn faculty and administration, and supervision support throughout summer school. Days June 30th, July 1st-July 2nd - Professional Development (Virtual) July 6th - Orientation and Class set-up (In-person) July 7th-July 30th - Summer School Hours: 8:00am-12:30pm Monday-Friday Skills and Knowledge An understanding of and commitment to Marburn's mission and values; Be open to professional development activities and agree to employ instructional methods and practices aligned with Marburn Academy; Conduct self in presence of students, parents, and visitors in a manner which models the core values and behaviors Marburn seeks to teach; Demonstrate passion for helping students who struggle. Educational Background and Experience Minimum of Bachelor's degree, or in current standing to receive Bachelor's degree Background and experience in special education is preferred Legal Requirements All employees of Marburn Academy must pass required criminal record checks and appropriate background checks, including proof of academic credentials.
