The Tatnall School, a Pre-K to 12 college preparatory day school located in Wilmington Delaware, and enrolling 500 students, has an exciting employment opportunity for a Coordinator of Innovation and Media Services beginning in the summer of 2021. The Coordinator of Innovation and Media Services reports directly to the Middle and Upper School Division Heads and works collaboratively with the Technology Department, teachers, Department Chairs, and Learning Services. The Coordinator of Innovation and Media Services should be an innovative leader who helps to assure that Tatnall is ahead of the curve in its use of technology as a tool for teaching, learning, and assessing. This is a faculty position with approximately one month of additional summer duties and responsibilities. The following tasks are included in the responsibilities of the Coordinator of Innovation and Media Services: Head Librarian Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities: Collection Development – Manage a budget determined by the Business Office. - Responsible for the identification, evaluation, purchase, and management of electronic resources that support the research curriculum of the school.
- Responsible for the selection of books and other print and audio-visual material to support the curriculum (grades 6 through 12) of Tatnall School, encourage reading for pleasure, and lifelong learning.
Collaborate with Content Area Specialists to introduce, reinforce, and ensure that students master the information literacy goals, as identified by the American Library Association. - This instruction includes bibliographic instruction, which is primarily performed online through the vendor, Noodletools.
- Instruction in plagiarism prevention, which culminates in students’ usage of Turnitin.com.
- Instruction includes teaching students their responsibility to vet their sources.
Promote Reading for Pleasure - Promote reading of a variety of genres to Middle School Students, Upper School students, and faculty.
- Create seasonal and relevant displays that entice and inform readers.
Technology - Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Ederic Library, serving approximately 400 Middle and Upper School students.

STEAM Coordinator STEAM Coordinator is responsible for supporting effective integrated learning experiences for Middle and Upper School students and teachers. They will work directly with students and our teachers to deepen the understanding and implementation of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, including design thinking, coding, and robotics, in our curriculum. Collaborating with teachers and Learning Services, the STEAM Coordinator will help develop curriculum and project-based learning that will enhance the program and provide hands-on problem-based experiences. Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities: - Plan, model, and collaborate with teachers, using research-based and differentiated instructional strategies.
- Deepen understanding and application of integrated STEAM concepts through the facilitation of experiential learning.
- Serve as a resource for professional materials and instructional strategies.
- Work with the Head of Middle School, Head of Upper School, Department Chairs, and Learning Services for short-range and long-range planning including documenting and archiving successful learning experiences.
- Collaborate with faculty to provide professional development experiences.
- Develop grade level STEAM units.
Professional Learning - Promote professional development among the faculty to enhance integration of technology, including sharing resources and announcing PD conferences and workshops.
- Facilitate and coordinate professional development experiences, media literacy training, and technology training with the support of Division Heads, Tech Admin, and Learning Services.
- Test and pilot technology, STEAM projects, and social media platforms for research into trending and complementary tools for teaching and learning.
- Work with Division Heads and Tech Admin to plan Educational Technology vision, goals, and scope and sequence.
- Meet regularly as a Technology Committee member.
- Present at division faculty meetings.
- Collaborate with the Communications Department to help communicate to the Tatnall community the vision, goals, and successful implementation of technology, STEAM, and media literacy initiatives and programs.
