We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join us as the Manager, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. This position is a full-time permanent position. Founded in 1894 and located on a beautiful 22-acre campus in midtown Toronto, Canada, Havergal College is one of Canada’s pre-eminent independent school for girls from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. The Position: Reporting to the Director, Wellbeing the Manager, Diversity and Inclusion, will be responsible for: • developing, coordinating and implementing programs which promote equity and inclusion for students, faculty and staff • fostering an inclusive school environment where individual differences are recognized, embraced and valued Specific Accountabilities: • Through collaboration, lead the development and integration of diversity and inclusion programs • Promote awareness, commitment and accountability for the employee experience and DEI action plans across the organization • Plan and ensure achievement of the DEI Framework and Roadmap • Provide a cultural lens that can be applied to the curriculum and school wide DEI Framework • Maintain a strong awareness on social issues, staying current with leading DEI research and topics • Gather, analyze and leverage data related to DEI surveys, demographics, etc. • Serve as a point of contact for DEI related questions/issues towards increased awareness, understanding and learning • Leverage subject matter knowledge to author or support communications and presentations to advance DEI efforts and initiatives • Collaborate and assist with the design and implementation of ongoing learning & development (e.g. training, events, workshops) to raise awareness and competency of stakeholders • Serve as a champion, strategic partner, and advisor for DEI by staying informed of best practices • Collaborate across the College to support students and faculty development of cross-cultural effectiveness skills, cultural self-awareness and cultural intelligence in an effort to prepare students for experiencing the world around them • Promote and support critical thinking around curricular issues of diversity, equity and inclusion • Oversee Diversity, Equity and Inclusion related student groups and coordinate monthly meetings with faculty advisors and assess the offerings and strategic mandates of each group |
