Our faculty and staff work together to ensure that the School lives up to its Mission to ”maximize the potential of young people by providing a challenging, enriching, and supportive learning environment in which students build the foundation for a life of purpose, passion and meaning.” Responsibilities: Instruction and assessment for 16-18 students in all major curricular areas: reading, phonics, writing, handwriting, math, science and social studies Regular communication via newsletters, phone calls or emails with parents Deep collaboration with grade level team members and other specialists Qualifications: Masters in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or Bachelors in Early Childhood or Elementary Education Significant classroom teaching experience; 5 year minimum preferred Excellent verbal communication skills and organizational skills Outstanding written skills for communication and documentation, including written narrative reports Knowledge about and experience with developmental, social, emotional and cognitive needs of the primary early grades Experience with early reading and mathematical instructional strategies Experience in and commitment to developing one’s own cultural competency and seeking, continually, greater levels of diversity, equity and inclusion in practices and curricula Ability to work successfully with colleagues on a team Flexibility, tact and grace in talking with parents Ability to integrate subject matter TO APPLY: Please submit a cover letter with resume and online application to canterburyschool.org/employment by March 25.
