The Alumni Engagement & Advancement Associate reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and works collaboratively with all members of the Advancement Team to build Ranney School’s alumni program and support all aspects of Advancement. The Advancement Team is responsible for: engaging parents, alumni, grandparents, prospective parents, and past parents through effective marketing and communications, volunteer opportunities, events, and outreach. The Advancement Team also raises over $800,000 each year in charitable gifts to support innovative academic programs and student life, faculty professional development, financial aid & scholarships, and enhancements to our campus. In partnership with the Chief Advancement Officer, Director of Community Engagement, and Director of Development, this position will be responsible for deepening our knowledge of Ranney’s alumni and where they are now, supporting connections with our new Alumni Leadership Council and Alumni Ambassadors, and communicating more regularly with all Ranney alumni. In addition, this position will assist in executing Ranney fund solicitations, stewardship and database management, as well as support the team’s communication, customer service, and engagement efforts. Alumni Engagement - Research and profile the backgrounds of all Ranney alumni.
- Manage the Almabase Alumni Connection Network and increase registrations and opportunities for alumni engagement (affinity groups, class notes, volunteer opportunities, mentoring, job postings).
- Develop an alumni communications plan including the Alumni Connection Network, newsletters, annual publication, and social media.
- Partner with the Chief Advancement Officer and Director of Community Engagement to develop and carry out an alumni communications and engagement plan.
- Help build relationships with alumni locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
- Support the Alumni Leadership Council and Alumni Ambassador program by preparing presentation materials, taking meeting minutes and other duties required to support these groups.
- Plan, organize, and implement receptions (Hall of Fame), reunions, special educational programs (Fireside Chats / Speaker Series, Career Day), and other alumni events both at the school and throughout the country.
- Develop alumni survey tools so that we can track the success of and graduate outcomes for our alumni.
- Research and generate ideas to increase charitable giving at the school, strengthen alumni relations, and solicit donors for charitable gifts and the annual fund.
- Maintain the Alumni portion of the website.
- Post and engage on the Alumni Facebook page.
- Assist in taking photographs at alumni events and also of unique school activities.
Advancement Roles - Research and profile the backgrounds of Ranney parents, particularly new parents and Board / major gift prospects.
- Support stewardship and cultivation efforts such as preparing donor presentations, generating thank you letters, setting up signage and donor recognition, and delivering gifts.
- Aid in maintaining and updating the school’s fundraising database in Raiser’s Edge.
- Assist with communications to members of the Ranney community via the website, social media, e-blasts, publications and other vehicles.
- Assist in the planning and execution of school-wide engagement and donor events such as the Welcome Bank Cocktail Party, Chairman’s Dinner, and Headmasters Reception.
- Support efforts to execute school-wide community service initiatives and other events.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Chief Advancement Officer and Head of School.
