Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Equity and Inclusion is a member of the Head’s Administrative Team and works closely with the Head of School and other senior administrators to advance the School’s strategic initiatives and principles related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Founded in 1866, Fay serves 475 students in Kindergarten through grade nine on a 66-acre campus in Southborough, Massachusetts, 25 miles west of Boston. Fay School was the first junior boarding school in the United States, and today 150 of Fay’s students are boarders in grades 7-9 who hail from 22 countries and from across the United States. The Director is responsible for promoting cultural awareness, cultivating a sense of belonging, and ensuring equality of opportunity by guiding the development and implementation of programs, events, and activities for students, faculty, and parents that promote personal growth and strengthen Fay’s community. In collaboration with academic and administrative leaders across campus, and the Parents Association, the Director supports and facilitates constructive dialogue about identity, equity, and social responsibility, which enables students and adults in the Fay community to engage effectively across differences both on campus and beyond.
