Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Facilitate ongoing collaboration and communication among parents, teachers, administrators, outside professionals, and students.
- Review and update student profiles and support teachers and parents in understanding results of psychoeducational testing.
- Collaborate with teachers of struggling students to generate solutions for academic and social difficulties.
- Coach students who make social mistakes to understand the impact their actions have on others and support them in making amends.
- Ensure all school disciplinary actions are focused on restorative practices and administered with compassion, integrity, and fairness for all involved parties.
- Support students in both understanding the actions of others and being empowered to set appropriate boundaries for healthy relationships.
- Support parents in advocating for their child as well as increasing their understanding of their child’s learning profile.
- Manage the administration of academic support services for students requiring additional support, including communicating decisions to parents, teachers, and students.
- Attend parent teacher conferences as scheduled.
- Assist in the review of student application files and class placement process.
- Assist in the review, revision and distribution of conference reports.
- Assist in assessing the effectiveness and appropriateness of all programs, policies, and procedures.
- Work in collaboration with all members of the administrative team for the benefit of the School as a whole, in any capacity necessary.
- Contribute to a safe, supportive environment for students, parents, and staff by acting with compassion and integrity in all situations, while at the same time maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Contribute to a positive school culture by building collaborative, collegial, and respectful relationships with colleagues and overtly supporting students, teachers, staff, and parents.
- Model the mission, philosophy, and goals of the School to all staff, parents, students, and the community.
