Rumsey Hall School, a junior boarding and day school of 300+ students in grades K-9 in Washington, Connecticut, seeks an engaging and dynamic English Department Chair preferably with five or more years of demonstrated success teaching middle school students. The position will involve full-time teaching in Rumsey Hall’s Upper School English Department (grades 6-9), leading a team of five highly experienced educators, and serving on the Curriculum Committee.  The  Department Chair teaches four sections instead of the typical five and receives an additional stipend. In addition to teaching, the Department Chair will serve as an advisor to students, coach three seasons, live on campus, and perform residential responsibilities.

• can help the department continue to develop a curriculum that teaches multiple perspectives
