About Us The Fessenden School is an all boys independent day and boarding school serving 525 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 9th Grade in West Newton, MA. Position Summary The Fessenden School seeks an Assistant Director of Residential Life who is responsible for managing the administrative aspects of the Residential Life Office, communicating with parents, students and residential life faculty, and partnering with the Director of Residential life in the development and execution of the program. Living on campus and embracing the lifestyle of a junior boarding program are essential elements of this position. Schedule - Orientation July Dates TBD

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Organize and schedule all weekend activities.

Manage and maintain the software program, Boardingware. -
Oversee all travel arrangements for boarding students. -
Manage the budget and payouts for activities and student funds -
Collaborate and assist the Director of Residential life in training, professional development and meetings for the boarding students and faculty. -
Communicate frequently to and be a liaison for parents -
Work as the residential administrator one night a week and assigned weekends. -
Manage the mail and deliveries of the boarders -
Maintain current CPR/AED & first aid certification and child abuse prevention training -
Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications -
Bachelor’s degree in education or related subject -
Two years of experience in a residential setting such as schools or camps -
Ability to serve in a diverse community of colleagues, students, and parents -
Ability to work with international students and their families. -
Demonstrated commitment to on ongoing education for inclusion, social justice, diversity, and equity -
Enthusiasm and communication skills to engage boys and build meaningful relationships -
Strong administrative skills for managing the office -
Strong supervisory and leadership skills -
Ability to perform critical thinking, organization, prioritization and problem solving with minimal supervision -
