Founded in 1952, Norwood School is a coeducational, independent day school with approximately 450 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Norwood has an opening for an experienced and dynamic 3rd grade homeroom teacher starting in the 2021-2022 academic year. Successful candidates will have experience developing the academic and social-emotional growth of students within the upper elementary age range. In this position, the teacher supports instruction in reading, language arts, math, and social studies, as well as in general, pro-social homeroom curriculum. Strong applicants will have a deep commitment to child-centered instruction and a demonstrated knowledge of Readers and Writers Workshop Units of Study. Prior experience with the Bridges in Mathematics curriculum is preferred. Strong candidates will have demonstrated experience in highly-collaborative instructional environments. |
