The Agnes Irwin School, an all-girls' Pre-K through 12th-grade independent school in the Philadelphia suburbs, is committed to fostering the intellectual and personal growth of girls and young women. Currently, The Agnes Irwin School is seeking a Long Term Substitute Middle & Upper School Art Teacher with an anticipated start of early April through the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Successful candidates will be committed to fostering the intellectual and personal growth of students through the mission of The Agnes Irwin School and the Core Values of Excellence, Character, Community, and Respect. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Teach 7th and 8th grade Ceramics & Drawing class
- Teach two sections of Introduction to Ceramics class and one section of Studio Art to Upper School students
- Act as a 9th grade Advisor
- Provide supervision to student-run Arts Council
- Other duties as assigned
Successful candidates will possess: - Bachelor's degree in a related field; 1 to 3 years of experience teaching art and/or ceramics to school-aged students preferably in a school setting
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to the values of a single sex education and desire to work with middle and high school age students is required
