The Governor’s Academy, the oldest boarding school in New England, inspires and engages inquisitive students in ninth through twelfth grade. Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Director of Annual Giving designs, implements and manages all aspects of a comprehensive Annual Giving program. In this role, the Director will oversee the initiatives associated with The Governor’s Fund, the Academy’s unrestricted current-use fundraising program. Initiatives include: Reunion Giving, Leadership Giving, Direct Mail, Phonathon, Class Agents, and other targeted constituent appeals and programs. The Director plans, organizes, and oversees all activities of the Annual Giving staff, including the identification, cultivation, solicitations, and stewardship of individual donors. The Governor’s Fund program is responsible for growing participation rates, migrating donors to higher levels of giving, and building a deeper culture of giving at the Academy. The model candidate is an energetic and experienced fundraiser with expertise in relationship management - internally with staff and colleagues, and externally with donors and volunteers. This candidate will have the capacity to think creatively, possess excellent management and organizational skills, and demonstrate a willingness and ability to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends. Prior experience working at or being in a boarding school environment is ideal. |
