Academic Services Coordinator Job Description The Field School is a coed, college-preparatory, 6-12 school in Washington, DC recognized for its approach to education, and its ability to meet the needs of a wide range of learners. The school enrolls around 370 students. This position works with the Director of Student Support to ensure the school meets its mission with all students. This position reports to the Director of Student Support. This is a 12-month position that does not teach or coach. Primary responsibilities for the Academic Services Coordinator position include, but are not limited to the following. Leading the school’s efforts to: Work with the Dean of Instruction and Innovation and division directors to continuously improve instructional techniques by engaging teachers in lesson development, discussing implementation, and facilitating differentiation Interpret neuropsychological testing and student data; collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and outside professionals in establishing learning accommodations and enhancements Develop detailed learning plans for students identified with learning differences and/or students with unique learning needs Support teachers by providing student-specific learning strategies Coordinate when a student requires academic responsive services, including testing, referral, and/or other relevant information Request accommodations for eligible students in coordination with the College Office Working with the Assistant Head of School, Director of Student Support, Dean of Instruction and Innovation, and Instructional Coaches to: Coordinate faculty professional development that supports the academic program Maintain continuity and consistency of the 6-12 program, in terms of student academic support Formulate and review policies and procedures related to academic support structures Actively participate in and, with others, lead Field’s efforts to build an increasingly diverse, equitable, and inclusive community Participate in admission activities as needed |
