Why Choose McDonogh School? An Opportunity for Innovative Leadership McDonogh School’s next Middle School Head will join an innovative, forward-looking, and growth-minded faculty who develop graduates prepared to lead and thrive in the 21st century. Guided by LifeReady, the school’s inspiring vision for teaching and learning, McDonogh maintains a fully-enrolled student body but remains ever-restless to deliver the best transformational education for a diverse range of students from the greater Baltimore region and beyond. Situated just outside of Baltimore City, the campus offers more than 800 acres of land, natural waterways, and well-resourced facilities. In addition to recently-constructed buildings, a state-of-the art athletic facility, and top-notch art studios, McDonogh is the home to Roots Farm, a 6-acre agricultural facility and classroom that provides unique seed-to-table programming year-round. The Fader Innovation Center, a 7500 square-foot maker, tech, and robotics lab, provides students with signature experiences where their knowledge, skill, and creativity coalesce around engaging projects. The new middle school head will also join this community just as we are opening a 67,000-square foot middle school building unlike any in the area. This facility, built to meet the needs of curious young adults, will provide myriad opportunities to shape and prepare children in their middle years. If this inspires you, we want to know you; read on. ROLE OVERVIEW The Head of Middle School will join McDonogh’s community as a transformational leader, administrator, and mentor for students and faculty. In coordination with the other division leadership and the administrative team, the head will help set vision for children in the middle school as they begin to establish their identities and values as young adults and meaningful contributors to the world. The head will also inspire an expert faculty as they expand their own abilities as professionals and as LifeReady teachers. The next middle school head will distinguish him or herself as a joyful, relational leader committed to students, parents, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
