The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree (Master’s Degree in related area preferred), 2+ years of teaching experience, a clear understanding of differentiated instruction and be familiar with project-based learning techniques. In addition, the qualified candidate is able to: - integrate a thoughtful pedagogy that aligns with mission and vision of the school;
- motivate students with a sense of humor, flexibility, high energy and collegiality;
- coach athletics or lead an extracurricular activity (prior experience preferred)
- communicate clearly, effectively and compassionately (orally and in writing) with students, parents, and colleagues;
- motivate teenagers: (the over and underachiever, the super-focused and the unfocused, the gifted and the learning disabled);
- deal effectively with ambiguity and change;
- build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- give and receive feedback
- demonstrate a clear interest in being part of a community that is committed to diversity and inclusion;
- establish and reinforce clear boundaries while being a positive role model to students;
- meet the physical demands which include travel on uneven terrain, climbing/descending stairs, standing for long periods of time and carry up to 50 pounds.
