The ideal applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to the integration of technology in service of learning and will be passionate about the opportunity to make our newly-renovated library space the academic hub of the community. The multi-million-dollar renovation project brings collaboration, technology and elevated design to the forefront, and the next head librarian will be in the exciting position of integrating this space into the life of the school. This ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to working with both students and faculty while leading the school’s efforts to promote literacies, both traditional and emerging, and best practices for inquiry-based research. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Actively curates and manages the library collection, both print and digital.
- Helps lead the research, evaluation, and selection of instructional technology materials (software, hardware, etc.) in collaboration with Faculty and Students in order to carry out technology initiatives.
- Supports and maintains Library research center technologies including conference and breakout room management via EMS software
- Creates and maintains subject-related information and instructional materials and documentation.
- Leads schoolwide culture of digital literacy by modeling and providing instruction in the effective, ethical and creative use of information.
- Conducts research consultations for faculty and students.
- Communicates with and provides outreach to academic departments.
- Manages the library budgets and evaluates requests for additional resources.
- Serves on the Academic Committee and attend division meetings.
