Besant Hill School, located in Ojai, California, is a 75-year-old college prep co-educational boarding school with an emphasis in the arts and project based-learning. Besant Hill School was founded as the Happy Valley School in 1946 by a community of educators and philosophers who were convinced of the need for new approaches to education. They envisioned an educational climate that would foster the overall intellectual, creative, and emotional development of each student in every aspect of daily life. The school is situated on 500 picturesque acres in Upper Ojai. As with all full-time positions at Besant Hill School, residential duties (evenings and weekends), coaching, and outdoor education opportunities will be contractually required. The school is currently seeking an experienced English educator for fall 2021. The ideal candidate must be versatile and have the ability to potentially teach Creative Writing, Philosophy, Psychology, or AP US History. Housing may be available.
