The Executive Assistant to the Head of School serve as liaison between the office of the Head of School and all school constituents. The Executive Assistant interacts with all levels of the school’s community, including staff, parents, students, and outside visitors, at times under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The assistant supports the Head of School with the daily operation of the school, short and long term goals, and institutional projects. The position performs clerical and administrative tasks for the office, compiles and conducts research, and prepares and/or drafts reports and communications for the Head of School. The Executive Assistant should be extremely proficient with data-handling and presentation tasks utilizing Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software. This position also provides administrative support to the Bullis Board of Trustees by preparing board and committee meeting schedules and agendas, managing relevant documents and archives, and responding to individual requests by board members. Qualified candidates should possess the following experience and qualifications: -
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field, or the equivalent education and experience -
Prior experience as a personal assistant, executive assistant or similar role -
Commitment to using professional role to further the creation of an equitable and inclusive school community -
Excellent verbal and written communication skills -
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail -
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines -
Ability to function well in a high-paced, and at times, stressful environment -
Extensive knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures, and recordkeeping systems -
Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or similar software, with the ability to learn new or updated software -
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information -
Previous experience working at an independent school or an educational setting, preferred -
Previous experience using Veracross and/or Razors Edge, preferred This position requires the uses of independent judgment when performing essential job functions and reports directly to the Head of School. This is a 12-month position beginning late June/July 2021 and requires the ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends.
