Annunciation Orthodox School (AOS) seeks a 2nd-grade teacher who demonstrates proficiencies in both progressive and traditional pedagogies while consistently utilizing child-centered techniques. Responsibilities: - Create a positive, supportive learning environment
- Generate developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned, research-based lesson plans and instructional activities for use in the classroom
- Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and materials that reflect an understanding of various learning styles
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal assessment
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of AOS students
- Provide effective and supportive feedback to students and parents
- Implement a classroom management style that aligns with the school’s mission and culture
- Encourage communication, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration
- Actively engage in a robust assortment of faculty professional development opportunities offered to AOS teachers
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders within the school community
- Integrate technology into the curriculum to strengthen the teaching/learning process
- Model Christian morals, values, ethics, attitudes, and behaviors
- Fulfill other duties as requested
