Position Purpose: The IT Specialists - Network Engineer provide high-level IT services and support for Teton Science Schools. Qualifications: • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and Google Apps • Bachelor's Degree Preferred or Current Information Technology Industry certifications (MCSE, CCNP, A+, Network+, Security+, VMware) with 5 years experience. • Experience working with information technology and systems in an organizational setting, preferably education. • Problem solving and project management skills and the ability to work with all levels of personnel to improve and refine technological infrastructure • Experience working with cloud-based applications Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: • Able to write / type / communicate • May be expected to work evenings, weekends or overtime to support special programs/events • Able to bend/stoop/reach and lift up to 50 pounds • Primarily based at Jackson Campus of Teton Science Schools with potential meetings/interactions/work on all campuses locations Responsibilities: 50% Tech Support • Provides first-level user support in technology use at TSS • Maintains and prepare computers and cell phones issued to TSS employees • Manages the organization’s computer and technology inventory • Supports technology and audio visual equipmentat at events • Assists with IT dept. tasks for the management of G Suite for Education 25% Network Administration • Implement and maintain inter-VLAN routing and VLAN trunking • Evaluate and/or recommend potential IT solutions (i.e. hardware, software, network-related) consistent with corporate goals and objectives • Keen attention to detail in documentation and configuration of systems • Hands on experience with network appliances like Wi-Fi, Load Balancers, Firewall and in WAN Optimization platforms • Provide support for critical functions on a daily basis, including (but not limited to) MPLS networkPlan, design, install, configure, and maintain the implementation of the LAN/WAN infrastructure including hardware/software recommendations 20% Server Administration • Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex system problems for hardware and software solutions. • Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues relating to Microsoft’s core business applications and operating systems on servers • Provide guidance and training to IT Staff as required. • Configure, design, and maintain system security solutions. • Identify recurring technical issues and propose solutions to address the root of issues 3% Planning and Research • Conducts research to identify potential applications for new and emerging instructional technologies. • Reviews and evaluates new developments in technology to support administrative needs 2% One TSS Responsibilities • Collaborates with and supports all faculty, staff, students, and participants at TSS in using technology to support the mission and goals of the organization • Contribute to inclusive work and learning environments through continually developing cultural competency.
