Rocky Hill Country Day School seeks a highly qualified Dean of Student Life for Grades N-12. Founded in 1934, Rocky Hill Country Day School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school in East Greenwich, RI made up of 300 students in nursery through grade 12. Rocky Hill Country Day focuses on innovative teaching and an interactive, inquiry-based educational experience to ensure that RHCD students grow to become navigators, critical thinkers, citizens, and communicators, who are innovative, self-aware, ethical, and globally-minded. Our diverse student body is made up of domestic and international students, and our intentionally small school community allows for individualized instruction and creates a familial setting throughout campus. Start date: July 1, 2021 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Oversee the Upper School Advisory program, coordinating with leaders in the Middle School for continuity of program.
- Work with the Upper School Division Head to develop an Upper School culture that supports student engagement through student-centered discipline and through decisions that support adolescent growth.
- Work with the Upper School Division Head to mediate and address student behavior and implement a restorative justice program.
- Communicate with families in a timely and effective manner.
- Design and implement student programs, including new student orientation and class trips.
- Coordinate the selection of student council representatives and student prefects.
- Advise the student prefects.
- Collaborate with the faculty student council leaders to design and implement student life activities such as Homecoming, Prom, and creative school-wide spirit activities.
- Organize, in conjunction with the Division Heads, All School Meetings.
- Working with the Upper School Division Head and other leaders, coordinate student programming for DEI, SEL, and other initiatives.
- Participate in the Upper School Student Support Team.
- Coordinate and oversee the US/MS Buddies Program which is part of our retention programs.
- Support the School and its leadership.
- Work for 3 weeks over the summer, typically one week in June and 2 weeks in August prior to the start of the school year.
- Act as an advisor to a group of students.
- Teach certain lessons in Seminar classes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by, and in support of, the Head of School.

Education & Experience: - a bachelor’s degree, with a master’s degree preferred.
