Scheck Hillel Community School located in sunny South Florida is currently accepting resumes for a college counseling professional (Associate Director or College Counselor) in our high school for the 2021/2022 academic year. In collaboration with the Director of College Counseling, this position is responsible for administering all aspects of the college search and admissions process, including the following: - Facilitating meetings with juniors and seniors, individually and in groups, with parents and without, to discuss the college search and making individual college choices
- Advising all high school students, parents, and faculty about colleges, the college admissions process, trends, procedures, and testing in both formal and informal venues
- Supporting high school students as they transition from high school to college
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with university admissions representatives
- Coordinating onsite meetings with college admissions representatives
- Teaching college readiness classes
- Partnering with counselors in 8th through 10th grade to begin strategic planning for college admissions
- Writing strong letters of recommendation to support students in the application process
- Representing the school at conferences and university visits
