Maret School is looking for an energetic, engaging, and experienced teacher who loves supporting students in a nurturing and challenging environment. We welcome teachers who are excited about joining a faculty committed to equity and inclusion, creating an anti-racist school, and reflecting Maret's Mission and Core Values. Our Grade 4 Homeroom Teacher is responsible for teaching language arts, math, and social studies to a small class of diverse students who are eager to learn. The ideal candidate will have classroom experience differentiating instructional strategies, strong communication skills, a comfort and nimbleness with technology, and will embrace modeling health & safety protocols in a school setting. Professionalism, maturity, and the ability to deal with unpredictability are vital in this role. This teacher will have the flexibility to work in either a virtual/distance learning, hybrid, or on-campus program. Qualified applicants should have a strong background in education and a minimum of five years of elementary-level classroom experience, preferably on the 4th grade level. The ideal candidate has knowledge of child development, experience with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Workshop, and an ability to work collaboratively with grade-level colleagues and resource teachers. The 4th Grade Homeroom Teacher reports directly to Director of Lower School Chris Appleby and plays an integral role in the Lower School, on the faculty, and transitioning our students into the Middle School.
