Details Posted: February 17, 2021 Location: Mc Lean, Virginia Show Map Type: Full Time - Faculty Category: English/Language Arts Required Education: 4 Year Degree The Langley School, a PS-8 independent school in McLean, Virginia, seeks a middle school language arts teacher to join us for the 2021-2022 academic year. This is a unique opportunity for the educator with the right skills, knowledge, and experience! This position will focus on teaching four sections of middle school Language Arts. Other duties may include electives, advisory, lunch/break/recess coverage, etc. The ideal candidates will work collaboratively with all classroom teachers as part of grade-level teams and with departmental colleagues to plan and implement our integrated, inquiry-based, dynamic language arts curriculum. Our curriculum is literature-rich, writing-intensive, and culturally-inclusive with a balance between canonical and contemporary works of fiction and non-fiction. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Language Arts education and middle school teaching experience are preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, and a passion for working with adolescent children required.
