Palm Beach Day Academy, established in 1921, is an independent coeducational school, serving students from age 2 to Grade 9, on two campuses. The foundation of PBDA’s program is the education of our students in an academically challenging and compassion rich environment that guides each child toward personal excellence of mind, body and character. At all levels, our students will be, as our mission states, challenged to excel, empowered to act, and prepared to lead. The Upper Campus, which houses our Grades 4-9, seeks a Middle School English/History teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Qualified candidates will have experience teaching the writing process, which includes extensive focus on critical writing, grammar, usage and mechanics. Candidates will teach a speech component, as well as discuss and analyze literature. The sections of history focus on the United States. Additional duties typically include advising, coaching, sponsoring a club or activity and participating in faculty meetings and professional development. Flexibility, creativity, a sense of humor, strong work ethic and a commitment to be a collaborative team member are all critically important. |
