Requirements ? Bachelor’s degree in music. Masters preferred ? Prior work in middle and high school environments working with students from grades 6 to 12 with minimum 3 years of experience teaching music ? Thorough knowledge of and experience teaching all percussion including mallet instruments, hand percussion and drums is a must ? Knowledge and experience teaching a wide range of styles including jazz, current pop styles and traditional concert band are a must ? Excellent organizational and communication skills ? Ability to transcribe and arrange music for percussion ensembles ? Proficient with using technology, including music notation software such as Sibelius and Finale and online assessment software such as Noteflight and Smart Music ?
