Palm Beach Day Academy, established in 1921, is an independent coeducational school, serving students from age 2 to Grade 9 on two campuses. At all levels, our students will be, as our mission states, challenged to excel, ?empowered to act?, and prepared to lead. The Upper Campus, seeks a 4th - 9th Grade Spanish teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. The candidate must be fluent and have training in second language instruction. As well, the ideal candidate will teach students in Grades 4-9: Introduction to Spanish through Spanish III. This teacher can successfully design instruction and create lesson plans aimed to teach Spanish grammar, conversation, reading and vocabulary as well as geography. Candidates are passionate about teaching and celebrating Spanish language and cultures and should be committed to collaborating with colleagues. Candidates are flexible and stay current with educational research in order to be prepared to teach the course content effectively. A strong understanding of utilizing technology as a teaching tool in our one-to-one computing environment is important. Teachers should include a variety of teaching strategies in and out of the classroom in order to be effective for all types of learners. This may include, but not limited to hands-on learning; project-based learning; place-based learning; collaborative activities; content reading; discussion; and technology. |
