Kents Hill School is one of the oldest co-ed boarding schools in the country, located on 400 beautiful acres in Maine. We bring boarding and day students together from across the world to engage in self-discovery and growth, both in and out of the classroom. Our athletics and afternoon programs - including 14 different sports, 28 teams, and six activities - is a vibrant and active part of the student experience. Athletes compete in the Maine Association of Independent School Athletic Directors Conference (MAISAD), the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC), and the Maine Principals Association (MPA). This position, with the desired start date of August 15, 2021, is a key administrative, and internal support position within the Athletics Department. This person will join forces with Health Center staff to provide injury assessment and evaluation, educational opportunities, and comprehensive injury recovery plans. This position will also assume several administrative responsibilities in the Athletic Department such as: assisting with the promotion of our afternoon athletics and activities through a variety of social media platforms, assisting with game and practice schedules, game set-up and breakdown as well as campus-wide health and wellness programming. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Evaluate and assess athletic injuries; implement preventive and rehabilitation programs to treat athletic injuries using the appropriate therapeutic modalities and treatments.
- Determine appropriate referrals and consult with Health Center, physicians, and other health professionals on injuries and treatment plans.
- Coordinate with the coaching staff; inform the Health Center, coaching staff, and other health professionals on the status of injuries and treatment plans.
- Attend/cover practices and athletic events and provide medical emergency coverage to students.
- Maintain equipment and cleanliness of the athletic training and rehabilitation facilities.
- Maintain appropriate training room records of injuries, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Maintain all CPR, First Aid and AED and NFHS required course certifications for faculty and staff.
