Description Reporting to the Director, Finance and Business Services, the Accountant – Revenue and Receivables serves as the lead for revenue and receivables accounting for the school. This position provides expertise in the School’s primary revenue streams: tuition and contributions. The Accountant oversees the processes for student accounts, including enrollment contracts, billing, and financial aid; and development, including pledges and endowment and investment management. The Accountant works closely with families on account matters, with the Development office on contributions, and with the PECF on investments. Specifically, areas of responsibilities will include: - Providing expertise and overseeing the process for tuition and student accounts, including enrollment contracts, payment plans, billing and reconciliation, financial aid, and academic use charges;
- Writing financial policies and procedures and implementing strong internal controls for financial activities related to student accounts;
- Working with families to understand account balances and payment plans and providing excellent customer service;
- Processing and reconciling academic use charges to student accounts;
- Managing the enrollment contract process to ensure compliance with current standards and trends;
- Partnering with the Development office and PECF to reconcile fundraising activity including donations received (both cash and stock) and pledges, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles;
- Setting up endowments in accordance with donor restrictions and monitoring spending practices in alignment with donor intent;
- Calculating the annual endowment draw and performing analyses for the appropriate draw rate over time in support of financial sustainability;
- Reviewing and reconciling investment activity, including trade transactions and investment income, in partnership with the PECF;
- Assisting in the review of liquidity analysis for cash based on the understanding of inflows of resources; and
- Performing timely reconciliations of financial transactions for all receivables and revenue.
