Bullis School seeks a Middle School 8th Grade Mathematics Teacher for the 2021-2022 academic year to contribute to our vibrant learning community. Candidates should be capable of teaching a wide range of students, with a specific focus on the development and implementation of a robust and engaging math curriculum for Algebra 1 and Geometry courses. This position involves teaching five classes, as well as co-curricular activities including advising eight to twelve students.

Qualified candidates should possess the following education & experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (required)

• Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (preferred)

• Minimum of 2-3 years teaching experience in secondary education (preferred)

• Commitment to using professional role to further the creation of an equitable and inclusive school community

• Ability to create learning environments that encourage risk-taking and deep learning for students with a range of learning abilities using a variety of methods and technology

• Detail-oriented, with the capacity to effectively and efficiently manage numerous small and large tasks

• Use of reflection and feedback aimed at continued growth in the field of teaching and working with young people

• Development and delivery of highly engaging, innovative lessons that measure progress towards academic standard and provide timely feedback and grades to students

• Enjoy working in a cooperative, team-oriented environment

• Apply a holistic approach to achieving an inclusive environment where differences are valued and respected

• Teaching certificates are not required
