The Nightingale-Bamford School seeks a Lower School teacher (specifically, 3rd and 4th grade reading, writing and math teacher) for the 2021-2022 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with 3rd and 4th grade students and an eagerness to collaborate with others. The candidate must demonstrate a strong interest in and understanding of child development, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, take initiative, and display an innovative spirit. The candidate should be committed to teaching about social justice issues and driven to explore ways to reach all learners through differentiated instruction and student-centered practices. Finally, the candidate must be fluent in the use of technology and well versed in classroom management techniques and a variety of assessment methods. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in elementary education.
- Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills and leadership qualities.
- Demonstrated organization and planning skills; strong attention to detail, as well as follow-up and follow-through skills to ensure completion of goals and objectives.
- Strong background and familiarity in teaching reading, writing and math skills.
- Ability to work and collaborate with a large teaching team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ease in effectively prioritizing multiple competing tasks and demands.

Responsibilities: - Teach reading, writing and mathematics to 3rd and 4th grade groups.
- Oversee students’ social and emotional development and maintain regular contact with families.
- Collaborate as part of two grade-level teams to continuously improve curriculum and instruction.
- Use grade-level guidelines to assess and evaluate students throughout the year, maintaining records and writing report cards accordingly.
- Write semester progress reports and maintain contact with families through conferences as well as with phone and email correspondence.
