Assistant Director of Advancement 

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement, this position will support a strategic advancement program, helping to engage constituents in the philanthropic opportunities and fundraising events at Beauvoir. This position is responsible for the planning and execution of Beauvoir’s annual giving program in the fall and the Beauvoir Scholarship Benefit in the spring.  In addition, this front-line fundraising position will support a strategic advancement program focused on building long-lasting relationships among all stakeholder groups. 

• Design and lead a plan to raise a minimum of $800,000 each year for Beauvoir’s annual giving program, called The Beauvoir Fund.
• Manage the personal solicitation of all school constituencies including parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, and faculty/staff for gifts to annual giving throughout the school year.
• Identify and recruit volunteers for Annual Giving and ensure necessary support and follow up.
• Work closely with key volunteers (the Scholarship Benefit Co-Chairs, Parents Association and Parent Committees) and with Advancement staff to facilitate a successful annual Beauvoir Scholarship Benefit.
• Prepare and coordinate all Annual Giving communications, including messaging and printed materials, consistent with the School’s mission and strategic goals.
• Ensure the timely processing of all gifts received in Raiser’s Edge. Prepare monthly fundraising and statistical reports. Work closely with the Business Office on gift posting and reconciliation.
• Facilitates timely stewardship and acknowledgement processes.
• Assist in the preparation of the Annual Report, annual statistical reports, and major donor lists.

• Ability to serve as a front-line, primary representative of the school’s philanthropic goals among the members of the Beauvoir community.
• Ability to work independently; a self-starter with a high level of integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion. Ability to collaborate with an advancement team and administrative departmental teams.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and interact appropriately with all constituencies including parents, donors, volunteers, and colleagues. Professionalism, maturity, good judgment, humor, and flexibility.
• Knowledge and proficiency in fundraising strategies and techniques, particularly around Annual Giving.
• Excellent writing skills/ability to write proposals and reports.
• Knowledge and proficiency in fundraising strategies and techniques.
• A proficiency in relying on data to answer questions and an appreciation of its usefulness in undergirding goals and priorities.
