| Math & Science Garden School is excited to announce the opening of a Math & Science teaching position for the fall of 2021. The position is focused in the intermediate and upper divisions. Therefore, experience and expertise working with a range of ages as well as comfort with introductory and advanced topics is desired. Garden School is an innovative and collaborative environment where teachers have smaller than usual student rosters so they may focus on the interests and needs of bright and sophisticated individuals. Teaching faculty at Garden enjoy a good deal of autonomy in the material they cover in tandem with well developed support structures to employ best practices in their discipline. Even for a smaller school, every department is supported by a Chair who will provide mentorship, guidance, and training to new staff. The Math and Science Team consists of seven faculty who focus on small group instruction with courses that track up to AP Calc, through AP Bio and Physics. Garden School’s philosophy is such that the value of Math and Science is recognized across our entire program with formal Science classes beginning as early as first grade. Garden’s recently adopted new strategic plan also means that there is ample room for growth as Garden aspires to expand its Robotics and Engineering programs along with all STEM, STEAM, and Maker coursework and facilities. This is a very exciting time to join Garden School to be at the ground level of building new and innovative programs that cross disciplines and challenge the notion of how students engage with learning. An ideal candidate will have experience teaching Math and Science to students who range in age, a passion for STEM subjects, a desire to explore and experience with STEAM/Maker, and a commitment for addressing the individual child in their instruction through novel and innovative experiences in the classroom.
