Battery Park Montessori is running its annual summer camp and is searching for a director.

This role is central to the planning and implementation of our summer camp. The primary goal of this position is to develop, lead, and maintain what has already been established for the summer camp. This includes a strong understanding of what has been done in years prior and how to accommodate programming due to COVID-19. This also involves a strong understanding of health and safety protocols, a keen sense of organization, and knowledge on how to design and oversee a curriculum. The director will oversee a number of faculty/staff members in their positions and provide training to faculty and staff. Finally, this position involves extensive clerical work and an ability to quickly pick-up software platforms – intended for maintaining student records.

The secondary goal of this position is to support admissions for Battery Park Montessori by attracting prospective families through the summer camp. The summer camp led by the person in this role would attract and/or nurture families who value a school that promotes student self-confidence, self-expression, positive peer relationships, responsible behavior and a social commitment to contribute to one’s community.

Hours

• March – 10 hours per week (can be worked remotely)
• April – 15 hours per week (can be worked remotely)
• May – 20 hours per week (can be worked remotely)
• June 1, 2021 - August 20, 2021 – 40 hours per week - on-site
