Details Posted: March 4, 2021 Location: Chevy Chase, Maryland Show Map Type: Full Time - Faculty Category: Business Management Business Manager The Business Manager reports to the Head of School, partnering with them and working closely with the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees on the finances of the School. The Business Manager is responsible for the day to day financial transactions of the School and employee communications concerning the benefits offered by the School as well as the dissemination of information and compliance to the regulatory concerns specific to each of the benefits. Specific responsibilities include: Tend to the daily finances of the school that include making bank deposits, verifying and paying all invoices, and entering all transactions into Quickbooks software Assisting the Head of School with the preparation of an annual budget which is presented to and approved by the Board of Trustees Assist employees with the understanding of and enrollment in the benefits offered by the School Manage all payroll functions and benefits management Prepare monthly finance reports for the Board of Trustees Prepare for and oversee the annual financial audit of the School as well as required information returns Manage the invoicing, collection and tracking of all tuitions Serve as an active member of the School’s administrative team Work with the Director of Admissions in tracking enrollment contracts Serve on the Financial Aid Committee Work with the Director of Advancement in processing contributions to the school Insure that individual employee files are up to date including assisting the Director of Auxiliary Programs with Office of Child Care requirements Assist in the management of building maintenance contracts, insurance, permitting and compliance The ideal candidate will have experience in a collaborative working environment, possess a finance or accounting degree, and an understanding or appreciation for working in an independent school community. This position has ranged from three days a week to full time over the years. The hours and days are somewhat flexible.
