Ursuline Academy Athletics Department is seeking an experienced head coach to lead a competitive and talented volleyball program. In addition to creating a robust training and conditioning program for our student-athletes, the head coach will oversee practice schedules, manage the coaching staff, and demonstrate success in a competitive volleyball environment. The volleyball season runs from mid-August through mid-November with expectations of overseeing out-of-season development opportunities for athletes.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Support of Ursuline's mission, students, and overall athletic program
- Coaching student-athletes at a high level in the sport of volleyball
- Collaboration and program oversight with JV and Freshman coaching staff
- Developing collegiate athletes that can compete at the next level
- Attending coaches' meetings, rules clinics, All-Catholic and All-State selection meetings
This is a part-time stipend position
Qualifications:
- Five years' coaching experience. Previous playing and coaching experience in a competitive environment is preferred.
- Proven ability to work with young athletes, and support the success and overall wellness of student-athletes.
- Ability and willingness to attend all team practices and games as well as travel to and from off-site locations with student-athletes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with athletes, staff, administration and parents.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulations and laws pertinent to the sport of volleyball.
