About St. Mary's Episcopal Day School
St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School, Inc., (the “School”) is a not-for-profit organization established in 1953 and rebuilt beginning in 2001.
The School, located in Tampa, Florida, is a co-educational day school that provides education to students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade serving approximately 450 students. The School is accredited through the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) and the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS).
Competitive athletics are offered in 6th - 8th grades, with approximately 95-100% of middle school students involved in organized competitive sports. The School offers Boys' Soccer, Girls' Soccer, Girls' Volleyball, Girls' and Boys' Cross Country, Boys' and Girls' Basketball, Girls' and Boys' Track and Field, Girls' Softball, Boys' Baseball, Cheerleading, and Boys' and Girls' Tennis. Intramural sports, which begin in 3rd grade, include many of the team sports named above, as well as flag football, golf, and lacrosse.
Located on eight acres, the facilities include four main buildings.
• The School, rebuilt in 2001, is housed in a two-story building consisting of 30 classrooms, a health room, two science labs, ar...t room, music room, video production studio, computer lab, eight administrative offices, conference rooms, a faculty work area, and a media center containing more than 15,000 volumes.
• The Laird Center, completed in the fall of 2014, contains a full court gymnasium with two full-size practice courts, a bouldering wall and athletic equipment facilities. The Laird Center also includes a multipurpose room, six classrooms, three offices, a food servery, an enrichment room, an after-school care area, a patio and balcony, and the school's Board Room.
• St. Mary's Hall was built in 2006 and is an auditorium with stage, church office space and an event center used by both the School and the Church.
• St. Mary's Church was built in 2002 and includes offices and church classrooms, including the sanctuary.
Other facilities include two playgrounds, a courtyard, a turf athletic field, an outdoor hardcourt and two parking lots.
St. Mary's employs approximately 70 full-time faculty and staff and offers a very robust compensation, benefits, and professional development package to applicants.
