Occupational Therapist, Toddler-Grade 3
Full-Time, 10 Month, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Lower and Upper School Directors
Inly School is an independent Toddler–Grade 8 Montessori+ School located in Scituate, MA, 25 miles south of Boston. The School has a student population of approximately 325 students, 70 employees, and serves 20 towns on the South Shore.

PURPOSE:
The Occupational Therapist reports directly to the Lower and Upper School Directors and is a member of the Learning Services team. The Occupational Therapist partners with the Lower and Upper School classroom teachers, as well as the Learning Service team, to support inclusive and culturally-responsive pedagogical practices. In addition, the Occupational Therapist uses a variety of data and observations to form strategic plans, develop resources and deliver support.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and implements individualized OT intervention strategies.
- Collaborates with students, school team members, parents, community agencies, administrators, and physicians regarding effective coordination of services.
- Prepare students to function independently when outlined outcomes are achieved.
- Documents all OT services provided within a timely manner as outlined by the Office of Diverse Learner Supports and Services. Evaluates and documents student progress in accordance with the ILOTA as well as school district, State and Federal policies.
- Work closely with families, teachers and students to ensure appropriate communication and coherence of care as students move from level to level throughout their time at Inly.
- Work closely with the Learning Services team, Lower and Upper School Directors and classroom teachers to help guide the School’s efforts to continually enhance teachers’ effectiveness in working with students both with and without documented learning differences.
- Participate in regular meetings with teaching teams and levels to build practices around differentiation and investment in research-based, student-centered instruction for all learners.
- In conjunction with the Learning Service Team, review neuropsychological testing, develop Inly Accommodation Plans and work with families to coordinate appropriate testing, outside tutoring, or other support services.
- Observe in environments throughout the School, engage in professional growth opportunities, and engage in pedagogical conversations with colleagues to invest in and learn about the total Inly community. Support the teaching and learning initiatives of the Directors of the Lower and Upper School.
- Use shared information systems to record meeting notes and academic progress notes, as well as maintain all paper documents and files.
- Administer screeners to applicants and conduct new student interviews when asked by the Director of Admissions.

- Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks and function in a fast-paced working environment
COMMUNICATION:
- Check email every week-day. Return communications within 24 hours. Emails received after 3:30 pm on Fridays can be returned on the following Monday.
- Maintain respectful communications with all children, parents and colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- OTR/L in Massachusetts
- Experience in a school setting
- A strong grasp of Montessori principles, philosophy and multi-age classrooms
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a track record of consensus building
