COMPENSATION
This is a 10-month, full-time position with an expectation of some, but limited, availability in the summer. Salary is dependent on education and experience. Campus housing may be provided. Benefits include a tuition remission plan, health and dental insurance, worker’s compensation, short-term and long-term disability, group life insurance, retirement plan, and eligibility for grants for professional enrichment and continuing education. Breaks include academic year holidays/breaks and two months in the summer.

St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School (www.sasweb.org) seeks an energetic mathematics teacher with the skills and desire to inspire students in their academic pursuits. The ideal candidate will cultivate an active classroom and delight in working with middle school and upper school students. The position begins on August 8, 2022.
This is a 10-month, full time position. Outstanding candidates will be self-directed and have a generally upbeat and enthusiastic disposition, and enjoy working with adolescents and adults in fostering lives of challenge, balance, and joy.
Successful candidates for employment will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching multiple upper school math sections of fifteen to eighteen students

Participating in departmental planning and curricular review

Serving as an advisor

Assisting with evening and weekend campus activities and supervision

Coaching and/or teaching an afternoon program.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

An undergraduate and/or advanced degree in mathematics or a related field

A commitment to innovative teaching methods

A willingness to fully participate in a boarding school environment

An enthusiasm for teaching within a diverse community of learners.
Applicants with prior teaching experience, boarding school experience, the ability to coach a sport, and/or experience with outdoor education will be given special consideration.
