Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School invites applications for a full-time position as a teacher in the Science Department for the 2022-2023 academic year. Located in Washington, DC, and founded in 1799, Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School educates young women in grades 9 – 12 in a faith-centered community focused on educational excellence and rooted in the Roman Catholic faith and Salesian tradition.
Successful candidates will have a strong academic background in biology and/or environmental science and previous teaching experience in the subject areas at the secondary level, along with energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to communicate and engage young women to deepen their understanding of science and foster inquiry. Experience with College Board Advanced Placement coursework is valued, but not required. Candidates must also be willing to work closely with departmental colleagues in a collaborative setting and to attend school-wide events and regular departmental and faculty meetings. Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
