OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Head of School and serving as a member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Development oversees all fundraising activities of the school and helps create a strong culture of philanthropy. This is a full-time 10 or 12-month position.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Oversee all aspects of the annual Prep Campaign
- Work with the Parents’ Association to manage the annual Blue and Gold auction
- Support the development and execution of capital and endowment campaigns
- Aid in the development of a major gifts program
- Cultivate alumni engagement with the school
- Act as the administrative liaison to the Parents Association
- Manage the giving and alumni database; produce giving reports for the Board of Trustees
- Serve on and work closely with the Board development committee
- Supervise all other giving programs of the school
- Identify, recruit, and train all development volunteers
- Manage the development budget
- Oversee grandparents day and the stewardship and cultivation of this group
- Manage all gift acknowledgements
- Oversee development and alumni events
- Research and pursue grant opportunities
- Conduct research on prospective and current donors
- Work with the Head of School and Board to implement a strategic development plan
- Create and implement a communications plan that highlights the importance of giving and stewardship
- Oversee the creation of all development-related materials and brochures, etc.

- Proficiency with data collection and analysis
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of information

- Strong belief in the benefits and unique features of a PK-8 coed school
- A genuinely outgoing personality comfortable connecting with and relating to other people

- A strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
- At least five years of relevant independent school experience, with strong preference given to an experienced independent school development professional
