The Croft School – Associate Pre-Kindergarten Teacher (South End, Boston)
Start Date: August 2022
About The Croft School
The Croft School organization is a young, high-quality, independent school organization. We have opened and operate two growing and acclaimed independent schools in Providence, RI, and Jamaica Plain, MA, respectively. We are opening a third school in the South End neighborhood of Boston in September 2022.
Our schools provide an engaging, innovative, child-centered program to its students and a unique parent-oriented experience to its families, all within a tight-knit, diverse, and joyous environment.
Our school in Providence currently serves Kindergarten - Grade 3 students, and will grow into a Kindergarten - Grade 8 school over time. Our school in Jamaica Plain currently serves Preschool - Grade 1, and will grow into a Preschool - Grade 6 school over time.
The Croft School in the South End will build upon the foundation and success of these two sister schools. The school will open with a Preschool (Age 3) classroom and a Pre-Kindergarten classroom. The school will subsequently grow one grade level at a time until it matures as a Preschool - Grade 6 school. Our lower school campus will be located within the former Stella Restaurant building.
More information about The Croft School can be found here: www.thecroftschool.org.
About The Role
The Croft School (South End) is seeking an exceptional Associate Pre-Kindergarten Teacher. This team member will work closely with the Founding Lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher in a classroom of our 16 founding Pre-K students. Expected hours are 7:20am-3:20pm or 8:20am-4:20pm.
The ideal candidate for the Associate Teacher role is an individual who is excited to learn from experienced teachers and preparing to be a full-time lead teacher down the road. Ideally, though, this individual will have experience working with students in Pre-Kindergarten (ages 4-5).
The ideal candidate will be committed to building deep relationships with their students and use that knowledge to establish and support a classroom that balances high-quality centers-based learning (including academic instruction), project-based learning, learning throughout the neighborhood and community, social-emotional learning, and play-based learning. All Croft team members, including Assistant Teachers, dedicate ample time and thoughtfulness to close communication and partnership with their students’ families.
