Elementary Program Description
At The Frances Xavier Warde School, our 3rd grade program provides students with a rigorous curriculum. During these grades, we especially work to build a strong literacy foundation. The teachers also focus on the development of thinking skills, articulation in writing and speaking, appreciation of the arts and an in-depth knowledge of math and science.
Primary Function
The third grade teacher is responsible for educating the whole child by providing a quality learning experience to all children in his/her classroom. The teacher must respond to the needs of each individual child by implementing lessons in all subject areas. The classroom teacher fosters and maintains relationships with students and families.
Key Relationships
The 3rd grade teacher reports to the principal and is supervised, evaluated and mentored by the principal and/or the assistant principal. Other key relationships include: the Head of School, other teachers and administrators, staff, students and parents.
