12 month part-time position, M-F 7:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Primary responsibilities:

• Model and instill a love of learning
• Support a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth
• Support student performance in all areas of development: Social Emotional, Language and Literacy, Logical Mathematical, and Physical
• Support appropriate instruction in line with the school standards, curriculum, and student needs
• Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport
• Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by utilizing effective classroom management strategies

Qualifications : 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; early childhood credentials required
• minimum two years of teaching in an early childhood environment
• excellent understanding of the social, emotional, and academic needs of preschool age children and how to provide for them
• a commitment to work collaboratively and innovatively with colleagues
• ability to communicate respectfully, proactively, and honestly both verbally and in writing
