All Saints Academy was founded in 1966 as St. Paul's Episcopal Parish School under Father Gilbertson and Father Sturrup of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church. The school did not adopt its current name until 1993, when the middle and upper school portions of the facility were added, extending the grades serviced to grade twelve.

All Saints Academy Episcopal School in Winter Haven, Florida is seeking an experienced and dedicated Lower School Strings teacher to teach multiple levels of string education for 3rd -5th grade students for the 2022-2023 school year. This position is a part-time position. This instructor will collaborate closely with the Division Head and the other performing arts faculty on campus.
In addition, this teacher will have a commitment to the School’s mission and an interest in community involvement through participation in school-wide committees and activities. It is expected that each faculty member contributes to a positive culture by building collaborative, collegial, and respectful relationships with colleagues and overtly supporting fellow teachers and administrators.
More specifically, our Strings Music educator will:
- Teach beginning, intermediate strings to grades 3-5 students
- Collaborate and work in tandem with other music educators on campus
- Provide performing opportunities for students multiple times per semester
- Actively seek ways to recruit students and retain students
- Teach a diversified body of musical literature including popular, jazz, and classical music
- Prepare music offerings for chapels, assemblies, concerts, and school events
- Encourage participation in pit orchestras for theater productions
- Participate in FMEA if students qualify for All-State
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare lesson materials, grade papers, manage the classroom, and evaluate and give feedback to students.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
- Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
- Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students' progress.
- Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress, and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs.
- Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs.
- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Where appropriate tie the strings curriculum to the content area curriculum especially as it relates to history and/or language arts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising administrator.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or the international equivalent with a focus on related field
- Clear understanding of differentiated instruction
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficient at designing and using assessments to guide instruction
- Commitment to professional development
- Proficient in educational technology
- Independent school experience preferred
