Job Overview: The primary role of this position is to provide math support to Upper School students through dedicated math support classes.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching two sections every other day of Support Math classes for 10th and 11th graders in on-level Geometry and Algebra 2. These students will take on-level math classes and then have a separate math support class to help them master the material which they find difficult.

• Teach one section of “Algebra 1 Daily”. In our A/B block schedule, classes meet every other day for approximately 90 minutes. Students taking Algebra I Daily will have Algebra 1 class every day for 90 minutes, doubling the typical class time, so that material may be covered at a slower pace. There would be additional time for the teacher to be creative, differentiate, and reinforce lessons to ensure students master the material. Some - but not all - students in this class will be diagnosed with a mild learning disability in reading or math.

• Candidates must be innovative and enthusiastic with their approach to teaching and should embrace the independent school model of mentoring, advising, and supporting students outside of the classroom and must be in agreement with the school's Statement of Faith.

• Preference will be given to candidates who are certified in or have experience in teaching High School Special Education Math.
