The Associate Director of Admission position reports to the Director of Admission. This position will help manage a comprehensive recruiting and admission process at Episcopal High School. The Associate Director will effectively recruit prospective students who reflect the School’s mission and values. The Associate Director’s efforts must be guided by data-based decision making and a strong understanding of both the Houston educational landscape and the specific admission needs at EHS. The individual will have the following specific responsibilities, but not limited to:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinate all internal and external processes related to the School’s recruiting efforts:
• Actively engage school leaders, parents, students, and members of the EHS community to identify student candidates who represent the values, mission, and goals of EHS.
• Work closely with the Director of Admission, Athletic Director, and Dean of Arts to coordinate recruiting events, candidate outreach, and all related communications and activities.
• Develop and implement internal tracking systems to ensure strong cultivation, communication, and follow-up efforts with students EHS pursues for admission.
• Manage the Admission Council and Admission Club.
• Participate in on-campus activities, interviews, and tours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Seek membership in admission-related professional associations to learn best practices and build a strong network of support in the region for EHS.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
• Create and implement marketing and communications strategies to support all facets of the EHS admission process:
• Work closely with the Director of Admission and Director of Communications to develop a comprehensive admission communications strategy that promotes the School mission and creates a compelling vision to the external community.
• Contribute to the creation of all print-related material and messaging associated with the admission and recruiting process.
• Help manage the Admission Office’s website portal and all related internet activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution.
• Previous experience in recruiting/admission preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database applications.
• Demonstrable understanding of the Houston independent school and public-school systems.
• Exceptional interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Previous experience in schools preferred, but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
• Generally works in standard office conditions and climate.
• Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
• May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
