Overview

PCS seeks a dynamic Spanish language teacher committed to progressive education and project-based, child-centered learning. The Spanish Facilitator will lead Spanish classes for early childhood through 8^th grade students. Candidates should be passionate about teaching and celebrating Spanish language and Hispanic cultures, and committed to teaching in with an interactive, engaging and integrated approach. The candidate will inspire students to learn Spanish and who works collaboratively with colleagues.

This position will be between 3 and 5 days per week, for a maximum of 30 hours per week.

Background

Peconic Community School is an early childhood through 8th grade progressive independent school whose mission is to foster compassionate, reflective, resilient learners in a safe, trusting and caring environment. The school’s vision is that education can create a better world. Opened in 2012, PCS currently has approximately 105 enrolled students and is located in Aquebogue. The school is a growing local non-profit organization dedicated to place-based, community-focused, child-centered learning.

We are seeking candidates who:

• Are fluent in Spanish, have a strong knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, and have training in second language instruction.
